    Good

Location was perfect for us. The bedding and bathroom were clean and the price was reasonable. Breakfast in the bar was excellent and good value for money.

The hotel in general looks tired and un-loved. It could do with an update.

    Exceptional

The family room we booked was really spacious. It was really quiet and no noise from either other residents or the pub downstairs.

  • 6.2
    Good

The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

The shower was pathetic, room 11 it was just a dribble.

distance walking from the high street in Lyndhurst.

rooms need refurbishing. the window in my room didn't close properly so it was quite cold at night. I asked for either the heating to be turned on or for an extra blanket but didn't get any of the two (they said they would have turned the heating on but never did!).

    Very good

It was in a good position not far from Lyndhurst centre, the room was clean and very spacious for a family room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Large bright room very near to town centre

    Place seems unloved and shabby

    Good

The food was good pub grub, it was convenient after a day out to be able to eat at the Mill

The decor was very tired, it has been a beautiful place in its time, but badly needs refurbishing.

Staff friendly and the room large food good. Linen on the beds clean and the towels. If this hotel had a make over it would be good. Just get the staff to clean it.

The bath room was a disgrace it was dirty the sink was dirty and the shower well that was filthy the sink was not clean when we arrived or while we where there the plug was falling out of the hole, in fact the last day we couldn't bring our selves to run the shower or put water in the sink we just let the tap run on our flannels.

what a lovely hotel with really lovely staff - ,made us feel very welcome.

    Good

The location was fantastic - it was very close to all the amenities of Lyndhurst. The bedding and towels were clean.

The Mill seems to be run on very tight margins. The staff seemed to be quite put out if you needed anything and we told it would take over 90 minutes to have some food (and there weren't that many people in the bar). Even though superficially it was clean, it could have really done with some bleach round the sink and shower taps, plugholes etc.

    Very good

Value for money, friendly and helpful staff, and a very good breakfast!

0n our first night there seemed to be a problem with the heating and the room was cold, although the water was hot, but once we pointed this out to the staff it was sorted out straight away and we had no other problems at all. Yes the Mill needs a bit of a facelift but the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. It was value for money and we would stop there again.

    Very good

The waitress/receptionist was fantastic. The food was very good, the room we had (8) was very spacious, the children's play area was popular with the children. We would stay there again if the price stayed at £40 per room.

It is very tatty and worn and is desperate for a little love and attention! It's a great building in a superb location and I think it could be fabulous. Our toilet seat was disintergrating, veneer from the drawers was coming off, carpets are threadbare, the tv nearly fell off the chest of drawers because it was so wobbly, the curtains in my sister's room were held up the plastic coated wire you use for net curtains - not a good look! But it was clean and much better than most of the reviews had lead us to believe.

  • 6.6
    Good

For only £50 a night we got a large room in an amazing location, staff were all very friendly.

Hotel is worn around the edges - wouldn't have been happy paying much more for the room and would not recommend as a holiday venue only as a stop over.
